Jordan on the Internet

Shortly after birth, Jordan was already all over Facebook, thanks to his two aunts, Lindy and Rayne, who were very bored in the surgical waiting room for several hours in anticipation of Jordan's arrival. We've also set up a an online picture album at http://gallery.me.com/crosby.andrew#100275 that we will be updating as we take more pics. So bookmark it and keep checking!

It's a Boy!!

On Monday December 13th at 8:36PM Jordan Andrew Crosby officially made his first appearance as the newest member of our family. He weighed in at exactly 7 pounds and was 20 1/4 inches long.

Nez had a scheduled doctor's appointment in the morning and they found that her fluid was pretty low. Since she was already full term, they decided that they would be cautious and go ahead and send her to the hospital to have him by scheduled c-section. She called the school to tell Andy what was going on, so he got the lesson plans ready for his sub and headed over to the hospital for the 7:30 appointment. At 8:36, the doctor said, "Ok dad, stand up; get your camera ready!" And there he was...

1 month to go!

So, the last week has been a busy one for us all. On Nov. 20, we traded in Andy's 2-door Altima coupe and got a more practical family vehicle...a new Nissan Rogue! Very nice and roomy SUV so our munchkin will have more room and we'll have more space for all his accessories as well...LOL!

On the same day, Andy's sister, Lindy, and her longtime sweetie, Ross, got ENGAGED!!! So exciting for both families! Nez was jumping out of her chair all day long she was so excited! Wedding plans are in the works now, people!

On November 24 (day before Thanksgiving), we went back to the OB for another ultrasound to check fluid levels. Andy's parents were in town for Thanksgiving so they were able to join us and see Jordan on the ultrasound for the first time. It was very exciting, although the only person who knew what he/she was looking at was the ultrasound tech! Fluid levels shot up for this visit, and are well in the normal range now. The OB cleared Nez to resume all normal activities, so she can do all her normal stuff at work and at home!

The only thing now is that Jordan is still breech, with his tushy down instead of his head, so we have another ultrasound at our next appointment on Dec 6 to see if he is still in the same position. If so, then we will consider our options, such as possibly scheduling a cesarean for the week between Christmas and New Years. So, still waiting to see what our little munchkin has in store for us this holiday season.

Thanksgiving was really nice, though Nez missed her family. Andy & Lindy's parents were here and so was Ross' family, so it was still an exciting and large family holiday. It was great to have both families together, to celebrate the holiday and the new engagement. There were lots of good food, good fun and good games to be had.

As of today, we are exactly one month from our due date, so not too much longer to wait! For now, waiting to see what next week has in store for us at the doctor's appointment. Will be sure to post as we learn more about our little man.

Update on Nez's Progress

First off, Thank you so much to Lindy and Heather for such an awesome baby shower! The games were hilarious, the food was DELICIOUS, the decorations were, of course, very appropriate, and the gifts were fantastic! We had a great time with all our family and friends who came to show their love and support for our little Jordan. You can view the photos from the shower in our online gallery.

Also, we recently had a great shower hosted by our friends, Brittany Dunlap and Loren Roberts, from Chamblee First United Methodist Church. Several ladies came out to celebrate with Nez and got us a lot of nice goodies. To see the photos from that shower, click here.

Ok, for the baby progress report. So, Nez went back to the OB yesterday (11/17) for another ultrasound after a week back at work after bed rest. Amniotic fluids are still within "normal range" but on the very low end. So, she was allowed to continue working, with the stipulation that she sit and do as little standing and moving as possible and when at home, she is basically on bed rest. Another ultrasound and OB appointment are scheduled for next Wednesday (day before Turkey Day) to see how things are progressing. The goal at this point is to keep fluids within a safe zone so Nez can make it to 37 weeks. We hit that benchmark on December 11, and the docs are not ruling out a possible early delivery at 37 weeks if the fluids don't go up significantly before then. We'll see how things go, but for now, Nez is relaxing comfortably, while poor Andy has to do all the shopping, cooking, cleaning and puppy-care duty.

Bed rest was temporary...we hope

Nez was on bed rest for what we hoped was only a week. When we went back to the doctor, they said she could return to work and just take it easy. They did another ultrasound and therefore we now have another baby picture to add to the collection. (The picture above is not it.) We've added it to the online gallery for Jordan.

We are very excited for the baby shower today for Jordan. Lindy and Heather have been planning like crazy and we can't wait to find out what they have planned.

32 weeks down...long way to go

Well, we've made it 32 weeks and are anxiously awaiting Jordan's arrival in less than 8 weeks. Nez has been put on what is hopefully only temporary bed rest for a week. We are heading back to the doctor on Monday so they can tell us whether Nez can return to work or will need to stay on permanent bed rest. Cross your fingers and keep us in your thoughts and prayers while we wait to hear what the next couple of months will be like.

Catching up...

Well, since we somehow didn't update the blog at all in the month of September, we thought now would be a good time to do it before we miss October also. We've anxiously been counting down the time until we get to meet our little guy. Thanks to Jordan's grandparents and other family members, his bedroom and wardrobe are growing, seemingly by the day. Andy has been trying to familiarize Jordan with his voice by reading to him almost every night for the past couple of weeks. Jordan has gotten to hear many classics already such as: Dr. Seuss, Amelia Bedelia, and The Berenstain Bears.

Registry!

Since we found out we're having a boy, quite a few people have been asking if and where we are registered. Today we finally had a chance to go to Babies-R-Us and scan everything in the store. For those who are interested, here is the link to our registry.

The Verdicts Are In...

Boy or Girl?
On Tuesday August 17th we had our 20 week doctor's appointment. Within about 20 seconds of the ultrasound, the nurse knew the verdict. We still don't know how she could tell he was a boy that fast! She then printed out 8 pictures for us.

Name?
We've also been talking about names. We've been set on a first name for a girl and the middle name for a boy for a while now. Just last night we decided for sure that our newest addition is going to be Jordan Andrew Crosby.

Update on the baby pool
We have had a lot of interest in the baby pool. The original one filled up pretty quickly so we started a second one. You can check it out by clicking here. We're hoping to get both filled up before Jordan arrives. He already has a nice little savings account, thanks to everyone who has chosen to gamble on his punctuality. Thank you so much!!

You can also see our online gallery with all our baby pictures so far.

Crosbaby Arrival Pool

We have a Baby Crosby Arrival Day Pool set up for friends and family to predict the arrival date for Baby. Basically, you buy a date and if Baby arrives on that date, you win half the money collected and the other half goes toward starting Baby's savings account. The prices range from $40 on the actual due date (1/1/11) all the way down to $1 three weeks early and two weeks late.

If there is a lot of interest and we fill up the squares we'll gladly start a second pool. So if a date is taken that you really wanted, let Andy know.

Below is the link to the Pool on Google Spreadsheets. Everyone should be able to view the sheet. This should always be the most up to date version.

Click here to view Baby Crosby Arrival Day Pool

If you would like to buy a square text, call, Facebook, or email Andy the day you'd like to have. (Text is probably best option)

We'd Like Your 2 Cents (and 1 vote)

On August 17th we will be heading back to the doctor for the much anticipated visit where they tell us boy or girl. We've decided to see if you all would like to make an official guess. Plus we wanted to try out this online poll feature.

What do you think Crosbaby will be when we find out the sex on August 17th?

First attempt at Blogging!

Hi all! So we decided to start a blog since our family is going to be growing and so much of our family lives far away. We hope we can keep up with the blog and keep everyone up to date on the things that happen and all that is developing with us. Right now, Andy is finishing up his Summer Break and getting ready to go back to school in August with a new batch of students, and Nez is finishing up her crazy summer of kids' programming at the library. Baby is getting bigger by the day and Nez already has her baby bump showing. Click on the link below to see Baby's progress so far.
